Vampire Academy

Trish frowned, taking both earbuds out of her ears as she spoke. "So, select Tiveon," she said bluntly, and grinned a bit.

"I'm going to, but...I'm just worried," Rayne sighed. "Everyone's told me I have a better chance at getting him because of the bond but..."

"You'll just have to see," Trish said with a frown. "You've saved him a bunch of times. I don't know how else you could improve your chances."

"I know..." Rayne frowned and started to fill out the application. "I don't really either."

Trish smiled. "I'm sure it'll all be okay."

A while later, Rayne had brought the application back and this time, had decided to head off to Tiveon's room to bug him instead of Trish.

Tiveon was reading, missy!

Rayne is coming anyway! And not even the fun kind. Rayne opened the door, walked in, went over to him, and sat in his lap. "Tiveonnnnn," she whined.

Tiveon was forced to set his book aside by her arrival and smirked down at her. "Rayyyyyne," he whined back.

Rayne hugged him and pouted at him. "I don't like waiting..."

Tiveon hugged her back and kissed the side of her head. "It'll be fine."

Rayne sighed and cuddled into him. "Are you sure?"

"I'm sure," Tiveon responded, smiling slightly.

Rayne smiled and kissed him. "If you're sure, then."

He kissed her back and smirked. "You have nothing to worry about."

"So, saying I do get to be your guardian... Anything you want to do to celebrate after we know?"

"We could go out to eat in town," he answered.

Rayne grinned. "That'd be fun. Anything else, though?" she asked. She poked his stomach playfully.

"Is there anything in particular you want to do?" He raised an eyebrow and grinned.

I could think of a few... Rayne shrugged. "Not really."

"You'll be the guardian," he mumbled and nuzzled his head into hers. "You know what's best for me, Rayne..."

Rayne grinned and snickered. "Oh really? Then I think you should probably have some ice cream after we go out to eat."

"Then I shall do so," Tiveon said with a snicker. "I wonder if they have tea-flavored ice cream."

"You're weird," she teased.

"I have a soul from England."

A few hours later, all of the guardians went to the gym, where the senior guardian was waiting once again. Most of the suggested Moroi for them were sitting in the bleachers while the guardians stood at attention across the gym floor. This time the guardian was announcing everything aloud rather than simply handing them a paper, and after the announcement was made, the guardian would join their new charge. O'Dell got lucky and was the newest guardian for a Royal at the Moroi Court, one in Lissa's inner circle. A few others got a few lesser-known Royals, some from the graduating class of the year.

At last, the senior guardian stated, "Rayne Lazar will be guardian to Tiveon Amos," and nodded to her once before he continued going down the list, as though one of the biggest decisions of her life hadn't just been solidified.

From the bleachers, Tiveon broke into a grin and slowly stood up, heading down the bleachers to meet her.
